Join us on October 24 for the Minnesota Socialism Summit: Only People Power Transforms Society. This summit will be an all-day series of workshops, panels, and cultural performances and will feature vendors, artists, and informational tables of various organizations. Together we will study the lessons of recent mass movements in the Twin Cities and across the country so as to guide our struggle for a new system — a socialist system — where the working class has political power, and the needs of the people and the planet are planned for and guaranteed!

Twice in less than a decade the people’s struggle against state violence here in Minnesota has triggered nationwide movements for justice. First in 2020, following the murder of George Floyd, the protest movement that started in Minneapolis brought 35 million people into the streets across the country demanding an end to racist police violence. And then again in 2026, when the Trump Administration unleashed the largest ICE/DHS operation in history on the Twin Cities, the people of Minnesota showed the nation how to fight back against ICE terror and put the tactic of the general strike back on the table with shutdown actions on January 23 and January 30. 

Right now, the billionaire class is spending public dollars on everything except people’s needs. They are spending $70 billion for ICE, $32 billion for the war on Iran, and billions more to Israel while they commit a genocide in Gaza. This is all while cutting funding for food stamps, education, healthcare and countless other social safety nets here in the U.S. 

Minnesotans have proven time and time again that working-class, organized people power is what brings lasting change in society. We need to build a political alternative that doesn’t rely on any politician, but on our own strength and power as working-class people.
